Dying to Self, Embracing Community: A Journey Through Faith and Service

Empowered by Pastor Callum Jones: Explore the transformative power of self-sacrifice and community in this personal journey through faith and service. We reflect on what it means to let go of self and embrace the challenge to serve, while also recognizing the importance of community as we seek deeper meaning. We are reminded of the power of rejoining such activities, and to reflect on the long history of scripture and tradition.

Reflection on the Journey

Faith

Community and the Search for Meaning

Pastor Callum Jones, we have a message for you. Have you ever had those moments where something sticks with you, like a particular sermon that hits home? Or a gathering with friends that feels like a spiritual recharge?

Exploring Moments That Shape the Journey

The Cost of Following Jesus

Reflecting on November 3rd, the cost of following Jesus brings to mind the idea of self-sacrifice and commitment required. The nature of sermons that connect deeply with the idea of dying to self enhances the journey of self-care and explores the following:

  • Spiritual growth
  • Acts of service
  • Emphasizing humanity

This journey embraces rejection, loves self-sacrificially, and emphasizes wellness through faith.

The Joy of Community

Moments spent with the Trinity Sanctuary Choir remind us of the joy in praising God through music. These shared moments strengthen our spirit and remind us that we are not alone. As one of your sermons suggests, “You are not alone.”

Understanding the Beatitudes

January 25th Reflections

At the beginning of this year, I set out to understand the Beatitudes. These teachings throughout the year, through different events and your sermons, have deeply impacted me.

I apologize for hastily leaving after sermons. I will do better. It is so important that my family and I continue to receive this wisdom. Even if they cannot attend, I collect these messages, summarize them, and present them in ways that resonate with them, even if not always on Sunday mornings.

Gratitude

Thank you, Pastor, for your wisdom, your family, and your team. You have fed this part of the community with timely and meaningful sermons.

Amen. Amen. Amen. This is Peter Tu, on behalf of the Day Day family—Jessica Yu and Yumi Tu—wishing you a Happy New Year. Thank you very much for your services this year. Take care and Happy 2025.
